Before joining G&A Africa, she served as Research and Compliance Officer at the Kenya National Commission on Human Rights (KNCHR), where her work included treaty reporting across multiple UN and African Union instruments and support for the Commission's re-accreditation to A-Status with the Global Alliance of National Human Rights Institutions (GANHRI), the top tier of institutional standing under the Paris Principles.
Claret's work is rooted in Kenya, with regional experience across East Africa and the African Union system (ACHPR, ACRWC) and international experience through UN mechanisms (UNCRPD, CAT, and the UPR before the UN Human Rights Council), as well as UNEP's comparative environmental law work spanning multiple jurisdictions. Her cross-border work has included advisory support for foreign investors entering the Kenyan market, treaty monitoring and compliance reporting on Kenya's regional and international human rights obligations, and comparative legislative research supporting environmental law reform in other countries.
